There are people who play a “Shell Game” with Christians or those trying to find out more about the Christian faith. They use Faulty Logic to divert their focus from Biblical Proof and eyewitness accounts that Christ is the Son of God and make a faulty point to confuse them. They might say things such as:

The Bible says Jesus Christ Is the Son of God, but the Bible has inconsistencies, which they call lies.

This is a False Analogy, because the inconsistencies in the Bible are generally related to wording and writing style which doesn't invalidate the truthfulness of the Bible or that Jesus Christ is the Son of God!. On top of that, these people try to make Christians feel foolish for ever believing the Bible or that Jesus Christ Is the Son of God. Don’t fall prey to their Shell Game!"

Are there Inconsistencies about the Soldier's Ear being Cut Off When Judas Betrayed Jesus that Disprove Jesus Was Betrayed or that Jesus Is the Son of God?

There are those out there who try to confuse Christians and try to disprove that Jesus Is the Son of God by saying that the Bible is full of inconsistencies and lies, but is that really true?

I will investigate this topic further to see if there are inconsistencies related to it. If there are, I will thoroughly analyze them to see if they are significant and whether they disprove that Jesus was betrayed or that Jesus Is the Son of God.

I will primarily use the New King James Version [NKJV] of the Bible and internet resources, as needed. Since the Bible often uses the word ‘him’ and ‘he’ within the same sentence, I will put within brackets who is speaking and who is being spoken to if I feel it might not be clear by the context. Additionally, I will put all my analysis, evaluation, observations, and comments within brackets, as well.

First, I will share all the related Bible passages. Then, I will copy and paste all the pertinent portions of these passages together by the particular aspect of the passages that I am analyzing at that time. This helps my analysis to be much more focused.

For those who would like to read this Biblical Research Project more thoroughly or those who would like to pass this information on to others, you can find it on either of these two blogs I felt led to create: Biblical Proof! at https://BiblicalProof.blogspot.com/ and Do Biblical Inconsistencies Really Matter? at https://Biblicalinconsistencies.blogspot.com/

Matthew 26:45-57 says: Then He [Jesus] came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. “Rise, let  us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.” And while He [Jesus] was still speaking behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.” Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?” Then they [the soldiers] came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him. And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. “Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? “How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?” In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me. “But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled. And those who laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

Matthew 27:50-54 goes on to say: Then Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Mark 14:42-50 says: “Rise, let us be going, See, My betrayer is at hand.” And immediately while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely.” As soon as he had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him, “Rabbi, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. Then they laid their hands on Him [Jesus] and took Him. And one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? “I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” Then they [the disciples] all forsook Him and fled.

Mark 14:53-54 (1st half) then says: and they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest.

Mark 15:39 further says: So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him [Jesus], saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”

Mark 15: 43-45 goes on to say: Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He [Jesus]  had been dead for some time. So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

Luke 22:46-54 Then He [Jesus] said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.” And  while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”  When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He[Jesus] touched his [the centurion’s] ear and healed him. Then said Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs? “When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.” Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance.

Luke 23:46-47 goes on to say: And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit MY spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last. So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!”

John 18:1-12 says: When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. And Judas, who betrayed Him [Jesus], also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples. Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?” They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth,” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they [the disciples] drew back and fell to the ground. Then He [Jesus] asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?” And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,” that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.” Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?” Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

John 18: 26 goes on to say: One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him [Jesus]?” Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

John 19:30-37 further says: So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him [Jesus]. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And He who has seen [Apostle John] has testified and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” [The footnote drew attention to this being predicted in Psalm 34:20.] And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced,” [The footnote said that it was predicted in Zechariah 12:10 and now they are both fulfilled.]

[First of all, who betrayed Jesus?]

Matthew 26:47-50 says: And while He [Jesus] was still speaking behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.” Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?” Then they [the soldiers] came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him

Mark 14:43-46 says:  And immediately while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

Luke 22:47-48 says: And  while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?

Luke 22:54 goes on to say:  Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance.

John 18:2-3 says: And Judas, who betrayed Him [Jesus], also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples. Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

[After examining all four Gospels, they all say that Judas [Iscariot] was the one who betrayed Jesus. Next, I need to determine how Judas betrayed Jesus.]

Luke 22:47-48 says: And  while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

John 18:12 goes on to say: Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

[Well, it may seem like I included the exact same passages both times, which is almost true with a slight exception. With the first question, I needed to include enough information to tell who betrayed Jesus and that was Judas Iscariot.]

[The second question asks how Judas betrayed Jesus and that has a three part answer. First, Judas knew the garden where Jesus went with His disciples and brought all the soldiers and others there to where Jesus was. That was the first part of the betrayal. The soldiers wouldn’t necessarily know who Jesus was because He was with His disciples, so the second part of the betrayal was when Judas had given the soldiers a signal that he would kiss Jesus, so they would know who to capture. The third part of this answer, was when the soldiers actually captured Jesus, so it involved some of the exact same verses as the first question, but John 18:2 was added, to show that Jesus was arrested.]

[After further analysis, I found that the Gospels of Matthew and Mark both say that Judas kissed Jesus, which had been the signal that Judas had given the soldiers. The Gospel of Luke says that as Judas drew near to kiss Jesus, He asked Judas if he was betraying Him with a kiss, but doesn’t actually say that Judas kissed Jesus. It is an inconsistency, but is it really significant?]

Luke 22:47-48 says: And  while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

[After analyzing this, in that it says that Judas drew near to kiss Jesus and Jesus asked Judas if he was betraying Him with with a kiss, implies that’s what happened. What if Judas didn’t actually kiss Jesus, would that have been significant? Not really. Judas brought the soldiers to the garden where Jesus went with the disciples. Judas made arrangements for the signal of kissing Jesus, so if Judas approached Jesus to kiss Him, but fell short, because of the soldier’s ear being cut off, isn’t really significant. Judas was in the process of going to give Jesus a kiss, whether it actually happened or not and the soldiers arrested Jesus.]

[The Gospel of John didn’t say that Judas gave Jesus a kiss as the signal to the soldiers. It just said that Judas, who betrayed Jesus, also stood with them. Is that significant?]

John 18:3-5 says: Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?” They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth,” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

[In most of my Biblical Research, I have found that the Gospel writers will sometimes differ in how they record things, primarily due to writing style. Some write with more detail and some with fewer details. Some only record what hasn’t been adequately recorded in the other Gospels.]

[Again, although there are minor inconsistencies in wording, it basically says the same thing. You will find out if you watch this brief video by J. Warner Wallace, a L.A. Cold-Case Detective, who tells that witnesses rarely report things exactly the same way.   Were the Gospels Written by Eye Witnesseshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siOcvLyKuEk (3 minutes 27 seconds) In my opinion, this video is really worth watching, because it clarifies so many things about the inconsistencies in the Gospel recordings, but they were still valid witnesses.]

John 18:3-5 says:Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?” They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth,” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

[It says that Judas had received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, who came there with lanterns, torches and weapons and later said that Judas, who betrayed Him, stood with them. (paraphrased) After analyzing this several times, it is not significant that the Gospel of John didn’t say that Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss that was a signal to the troops. Whether Judas did or did not kiss Jesus, isn’t as significant as Judas’ betrayal of Jesus by arranging to have all the troops with him and taking the troops to where Jesus was in a garden He frequented with the disciples, so they could arrest Jesus.]

[With that said, three of the Gospels did say that Judas either kissed or planned to kiss Jesus as a signal to the soldiers. It most likely means that it did happen, but as I said earlier, if it didn’t, it isn’t significant. It’s the actual betrayal of Jesus that is significant-not the kiss. The Apostle John often adds additional details that weren’t already recorded in the other Gospels like the name of the servant who got his ear cut off was Malchus and the disciple that cut off his ear was Simon Peter.]

[Let’s examine further what John 18:4-5 says: Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward. That in and of itself is pretty significant. Who but the Son of God would know that He is going to be betrayed, arrested, questioned, scourged, mocked, spit on, crucified, buried, and rise again on the third day? John isn’t the only Gospel that records that Jesus knew this.]

John 18:4-5 says: Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking? They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth,” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

Matthew 26:45 says:Then He [Jesus] came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. “Rise, let  us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”

Mark 14:42 says: Mark 14:42-50  “Rise, let us be going, See, My betrayer is at hand.

[Another aspect of this that is significant is that Jesus approached Judas and the soldiers. Jesus knows all of this is going to happen to Him, but He doesn’t run and hide like I might have. He is committed to giving His life as a ransom for our sins. Pretty impressive if you ask me!]

[Now to get on with the rest of the analysis. How did the soldier’s ear get cut off?]

Matthew 26:50-51 says: But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?” Then they [the soldiers] came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him. And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Mark 14:46-47 says: Then they laid their hands on Him [Jesus] and took Him. And one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

Luke 22:49-50 says:  When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

John 19:10 says: Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

[All four Gospels say about the same thing about the high priest’s servant’s ear getting cut off. As I said earlier, the Gospel of John adds information about the servant’s name is Malchus and Simon Peter is the one who cut off his ear.]

[How does Jesus respond to the servant’s ear being cut off?]

Matthew 26:52-56 (first half) says: But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. “But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.”

Mark 14:48-49 says: Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? “I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

Luke 22:51-53 says: But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He[Jesus] touched his [the centurion’s] ear and healed him. Then said Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and the elders who had come to Him, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs? “When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

John 18:11says: So Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”

[Both the Gospels of Matthew and John record that Jesus said to put his sword in its place. The Gospel of Luke said that Jesus said to permit even this, so those are all basically the same knowing that the Gospel writers, like any other writer, put things into their own words, especially when so much is going on at once.]

[Only the Gospel of Matthew adds Jesus saying, “Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?” The Gospel of Luke is the only one that adds the information about Jesus’ healing of the servant’s severed ear. Again, some of the Gospel writers only add information that hasn’t be already recorded in the other Gospels.]]

[The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke have Jesus asking about the soldiers coming at Him with swords and clubs like a common robber when He was daily with them in the temple. (paraphrased)]

[The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and John all have that Jesus’ betrayal happened so that the Scriptures could be fulfilled. (paraphrased)]

[All four Gospels are basically saying the same thing, but some of the Gospel writers have added additional pertinent information that wasn’t recorded in the other Gospels.]

[How did the disciples respond to this?]

Matthew 26:56 2nd half says: Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

Mark 14:50 says:  Then they [the disciples] all forsook Him and fled.

Mark 14:54 (1st half) says:  But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest.

Luke 22:54 2nd half says: But Peter followed at a distance.

John 18:5-6 says: They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth,” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they [the disciples] drew back and fell to the ground

[Although it’s worded differently in each of the four Gospels, they all say that the disciples didn’t stand by Jesus’ side when approached by the soldiers. Even Peter didn’t stay there with Jesus, but followed at a distance.]

[What did the soldiers then do?]

Matthew 26:57 says:  And those who laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

Mark 14:53-54 (1st half) then says: and they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest.

Luke 22:54 says: Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance.

John 18:12 says: Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

[The four Gospels are pretty consistent about this.]

[The analysis from this Biblical Research Project proved that any inconsistencies about Judas betraying Jesus were minimal and definitely not significant in disproving that Judas betrayed Jesus.]

[Also, this Biblical Research Project addresses whether any of these inconsistencies disproves that Jesus Is the Son of God. I will share the related passages with you, now.]

Mark 15:39 further says: So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him [Jesus], saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”

Mark 15:43-45 goes on to say: Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He [Jesus]  had been dead for some time. So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

Luke 23:46-47 goes on to say: And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit MY spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last. So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!

[The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke all record that the centurion said that Jesus was Truly the Son of God! Of course, after reading all this Biblical Proof, you can understand how the centurion would know this so well. He was there when his ear was cut off by Simon Peter and Jesus healed him. Jesus healed him, despite the fact that he [the centurion] was part of the soldiers that were there to arrest Jesus, but Jesus still healed him. The centurion was an eyewitness that Jesus healed his ear and that miraculous and strange things happened when Jesus died, which is further confirmation that Jesus Is the Son of God.]

[Additionally, the Apostle John records about Jesus’ death on the cross and is another eyewitness of Jesus’ healing the centurion and the soldiers piercing Jesus’ side to prove that He was dead and that they didn’t break any of His bones, which ended up fulfilling scripture predictions.]

Matthew 27:54 says: So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!

Mark 15:39 further says: So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him [Jesus], saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”

Mark 15:44-45 goes on to say: Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He [Jesus]  had been dead for some time. So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

Luke 23:47 says:  So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!

John 19:32-37 says: Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him [Jesus]. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.

[In order to bring this full cycle with eyewitnesses that Jesus had arisen from the grave on the third day, I felt compelled to add this passage from John 20:24-29 which says: Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He [Jesus] said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”  And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”]

1 Corinthians 15:3-7 the Apostle Paul says: For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that he was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep [died]. After that He [Jesus] was seen by James, then by all the apostles.

Remember John 3:16-21 which says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. “But he who does the truth come to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

Follow the Light of Salvation that faith in Jesus provides. As Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
